I have every intention of revisiting Amsterdam someday. It’s beautiful, charming, unique and one of my favorite cities. In Vogue Paris online, Doutzen Kroes gives us an insider’s perspective as she shares some favorite spots in her home town. Some of them I hit on my last trip, and the rest have me dreaming of returning sooner rather than later.
Place for morning coffee: Le Pain Quotidien
Be a Tourist: canal boat rides
Shops: Van Ravenstein, Tenue de Nîmes and Maison Rika
Enjoy the outdoors: Amsterdamse Bos (like a Dutch Central park)
Must see gallery and museums: Het Grachtenhuis (history of the canals), Rijksmuseum, Anne Frank house, and the Van Gogh Museum
Lunch spot: SLA, Lavinia, Lion Noir, and Kantjil
Must try: Surinamese curry
Spot to relax: Friesland, north of Amsterdam
Dinner spot: Foodhallen, Citroen, Buffet Van Odette, De Plantage, and Taiko
After hours bars and clubs: Paradiso, Bar Ludwig, Jimmy Woo and NYX
Must do: eat bitterballen and drink beer at Cafe Nol, try the Dutch apple tart at Winkel

Your pictures bring back beautiful memories – the museums, the food, but most of all the Dutch people. It is a wonderful walking city. We loved Rembrandt Haus, a small museum devoted to his etchings. Haven’t been there in a long time – I wonder if it is still the same.
Love your “Style”, Esther
