I’ve tried numerous brands of foundation over the years, only to have them go to waste sitting in a drawer. I’m never thrilled with the results, plus the feel of makeup on my face annoys me. I prefer a natural look for my skin and most foundations create the exact opposite effect. I’m not interested in full coverage. I want a magical potion to even out skin tone, minimize pores, and quietly mask brown spots and signs of rosacea.
Enter the Westman Atelier Vital Foundation Stick. I’m hooked. It provides a finish that allows my skin to look natural while subtly masking imperfections. This is exactly what I’ve always dreamed a foundation should do. I’ve tossed every other I was holding on to without a second thought.
I was matched to a single color, although more than one is often recommended, especially if dealing with contouring, additional coverage or evening out variations in tone. With seasonal changes in my skin, I have no doubt I’ll want another shade.
I don’t know which ingredients make the application and finish so good, but I do know the products are silicone, paraben, PEG, talc and phthalate free. Loaded with botanical-powered formulations that nurture the skin, it feels as if I’m applying a treatment rather than a layer of makeup.
Since I’ve been on the hunt for a product like this forever, the foundation stick is a game changer and my favorite product in the Westman Atelier lineup. But, I have equally high praise for the Blush Stick, the Beauty Butter Powder Bronzer (again, so natural looking), the Lit Up Highlight Stick (with hyaluronic acid filling spheres), and three compatible handcrafted brushes. As of now, that’s the tightly curated line, so essentially, I’m a fan of the entire Westman Atelier collection.

Thank you! Out of curiosity and because there is so little on-line info on the foundation shades at Barneys (for those of us who have to shop on-line!). What shade did you use? There’s a “0”, or a “1” that look like the lightest.
Karima
The color I’m using is Atelier III.

I love it as well. I do use 2 shades that I blend and don’t use it all over my face, unless I’m going out for the evening. I also use the blush, the highlighter, and the bronzer. Everything else in my drawer got tossed. I hope she comes out with lipsticks too. The products feel so good on my skin.

I bought the blush, highlighter, and bronzer too. I’m going to pick up the brushes and another foundation color next time I’m in town (LA). A lipstick would be amazing.

Me too! Bought it last summer and have not looked back. I mix 3 colors and only use it for touch up.

It really is amazing and superb beyond other foundations/cover ups. I’ll definitely add more shades next time I’m at Barneys or Violet Gray.

Thank you for the recommendation! I stopped in at Barneys this weekend and bought two foundation colors, blush, the highlight stick and the blending brush. Beautiful products!!
Karima
Glad you love it as much as I do!

I would love to try this, too, but can’t imagine getting the proper shades by mail. Guess I’ll have to wait until the line is more wisely available. Good to have your recommendation, just in case!

I know. It’s a bit challenging with the limited availability. I have a friend who called Barneys and told them the color of the current foundation she used from another line and asked them to match that as closely as possible. Barneys picked a color based on that and sent the Atelier Westman product to her. Just a thought…
