A Note on Style

I’m Back!

I’m Back!

Hello again! Thank you for sticking around during my unexpected hiatus. Problems with the site this past month prevented my daily updates to A Note On Style. I’m happy to be back and moving forward doing what I love – finding inspiration from endless sources and sharing them with you. Thank you to everyone who reached out to me during this period to offer encouragement and support. I’m more appreciative than ever that you take time to stop by, read, comment and share A Note On Style.

So, picking up where I left off, I’m sharing my current inspiration board for March which includes directional items I’d like to add to my closet along with a few good products I’ve been using recently.

Sticking with my go-to palette of black and white, I’m simply updating the silhouettes. The full-legged, side button Nili Lotan pant, a favorite of the season, is wearable and chic from dawn to dusk. Tibi’s black pleated silk blouse caught my eye early on quickly made it to the top of my spring wish list. It has all the details I’m loving right now…volume, sleeve detail and attention to detail. And Céline’s low heeled, black sandal is a clean and modern update to wear with just about everything. I also wouldn’t mind adding Celine’s tan tote to the mix. I have one in black and use it almost everyday.

There are also a few products I’ve been routinely using lately that are worth sharing. I’ve already sold several of my friends on Lorac matte lip color. It goes on smooth and stays put without drying. I have it in several shades from a pale pink and a nude to a rich bordeaux. I’ve just discovered Shu Uemura’s hair products. This nourishing oil is exactly what I need. It protects from heat while adding shine and volume…plus it smells great. And lastly, a friend gave me L:A Bruket Bath Salt in No. 001 and my evening bath ritual has been transformed to a lovely Swedish spa. So nice.

My weekend plans involve a lot of relaxing. I’m My weekend plans involve a lot of relaxing. I’m still playing catch up from my trip so the idea of poking around the house is very appealing. I want to tidy things up for the season now that we’re already in July. Fresh table linens, raffia accents, and new candles will be brought into rotation.
.
I’m sure you’ve seen the images this week of Nancy Meyers’s @markdsikes_interiors designed home as published in Architectural Digest. I can’t wait to curl up on a lounge chair and read the full story. Every photo I’ve seen so far is simply stunning. Such talent.
.
I’ve obsessed about this Tory Burch printed tablecloth (scroll forward) since I saw it in the New York store last September. It’s time to bring it home. It’s beautiful and will pair nicely with pinks, blues and greens now or warmer tones in the fall. A raffia placemat will add texture and interest peaking out from under a charger or plate. For a complete splurge, I’d select hand painted plates from the Picardie collection created by Zoe de Givenchy for @zdgofficial So lovely.
.
Meanwhile, part of my lounging around means wearing relaxed clothes. My favorite pull on shorts from @cosstores have been getting lots of play. Same with a poplin shirt I’ll tie at the waist or layer over a tank.
.
Two other favorite pieces I’ve been wearing a lot lately are a pair of @fendi silver slides and a @sophiebuhai black knotted pearl necklace. I’ll layer it with other pearls, chains, diamonds or enjoy it simply on its own. Both pieces involve minimal effort in producing a splash of style.
.
The @frenchgirlorganics Rose Lip Polish has been a staple in my beauty cabinet for a long time. My latest discovery is to use it on my cuticles. Seriously the best thing ever. I’m stocking up! This is a must try and savior for anyone with dry cuticles.
.
Enjoy the long weekend and have a happy Fourth!
My wardrobe is fairly consistent with classic piec My wardrobe is fairly consistent with classic pieces so I’ll add fresh, seasonal accessories to bring a little flair to my looks. In collaboration with #Mytheresa I handpicked items that would boost my summer outfits while still staying true to my style. Think raffia bags, bucket hats and flat sandals – summer staples with a twist.
Details in today’s story on A Note on Style.
