TRANSITIONING TO SPRING AND BEYOND

TRANSITIONING TO SPRING AND BEYOND

I added three simple pieces to my closet that will go the distance in transitioning my wardrobe to spring and beyond. A sweater vest, striped shirt and cropped leather jacket are all basics, but feel fresh in these interpretations. They easily layer now with heavier pieces and boots but are equally functional as the weather warms to wear with lightweight items and sandals.

TRANSITIONING TO SPRING AND BEYOND - A NOTE ON STYLE - MYTHERESAREDValentino jacket; The Row white jeans; AMI PARIS vest and shirt; J Brand black cropped jeans; Jimmy Choo sandals; Legres boots; Sophie Buhai pearl necklace

TRANSITIONING TO SPRING AND BEYOND - A NOTE ON STYLE - MYTHERESAAn oatmeal colored vest from AMI PARIS is a favorite I know will be in heavy rotation. I love vests for their versatility to wear with or without a shirt underneath. It’s a perfect piece to layer under a jacket for warmth minus the bulk and pairs nicely with trousers, jeans or joggers. Also from AMI PARIS, I picked up a brown and white striped shirt. The bold stripe feels a little more unexpected than many of the classic shirts I already own. It looks great with black jeans for a sharp contrast but come summer I’m picturing it tucked into white jeans with sandals and a great belt. Super easy but chic.

TRANSITIONING TO SPRING AND BEYOND - A NOTE ON STYLE - MYTHERESAA cropped leather jacket from REDValentino immediately caught my eye as a fantastic topper. Three quarter sleeves, perfect for warmer weather, look original and were an instant selling point for me. With details similar to a tailored piece, the double breasted silhouette feels familiar but fresh in leather. Brass anchor buttons add an understated nautical influence. I like it with high waist trousers, white jeans or thrown on over a dress. The sleeve length invites loads of styling options including layered over a thin knit with long sleeves extending to the wrist.

TRANSITIONING TO SPRING AND BEYOND - A NOTE ON STYLE - MYTHERESA TRANSITIONING TO SPRING AND BEYOND - A NOTE ON STYLE - MYTHERESAMixing these pieces with other items in my wardrobe is a good starting point to welcome the new season. Simple but significant additions are often all that’s needed to give classic looks a modern vibe.

AMI PARIS and REDValentino are two labels I’ve never worn before. Discovering unfamiliar collections is one of the many reasons I shop on Mytheresa. I’m inspired by their edits and often find unique pieces I don’t see everywhere else. Plus, the customer service is top notch. Shipments arrive promptly, beautifully packed in their signature yellow box. I’ve been shopping Mytheresa for years now and it continues to be my go-to online store.

Thank you Mytheresa for supporting this post.

So many beautiful pieces. I especially live the vest. Have been searching for one and this may just be it. Who makes those gorgeous wide leg pants in your first photo?

Gray is taking a back seat this season in my usual Gray is taking a back seat this season in my usual fall round up. Instead, warm, caramel tones have all of my attention. Mixing various hues results in an interesting look that feels more naturally acquired versus overly styled.

The Row silk scarf looks like something you could easily miss, but it’s the perfect finishing touch to so many looks. It truly goes with everything. Toteme’s travel loafers (in any color) is a must for any travel wardrobe. And I don’t know how this zipped cardigan got past me until now. It’s fantastic and in my cart.

My closet is slowly becoming more Khaite-centric w My closet is slowly becoming more Khaite-centric with every new collection. Each season, I’m finding at least a few pieces from Khaite on the very top of must have list. I like how the styles stand out on their own making a modern statement in a subtle way. Adding a Khaite belt, sweater, or pair of jeans nudges a more current feel on my wardrobe without looking fashion obsessed.

Now, it’s time for a bag. The Lilith specifically caught my eye. Understated chic in a quietly sophisticated way. The slim size would make this ideal for travel when something more than an everyday bag is required. The black and cream leather are beautiful, but the latticework of Swarovski crystals is extra special.

I’m wearing the dress with gold and black suede T-strap @chanelofficial sandals. I added a belt for definition at the waist but think a grosgrain or satin ribbon would do the trick. Although I love the idea of pearls on the belt, I’d prefer a non logo with this dress. Link to dress in today’s story.

Since I received this lovely necklace from Devon W Since I received this lovely necklace from Devon Woodhill, I’ve barely taken it off. And according to Melissa Levy, founder and designer of Devon Woodhill Fine Jewelry, that’s exactly how the collection is intended to be worn. Each treasured piece is a timeless memento for daily and occasion wear.

As I said in an earlier post - jewelry, fashion and interior design are opportunities to tell a story, which is why I adore this necklace. The 18k gold Florentine etched circle is elegant in its simplicity and can be personalized with a monogram, more charms, or worn as is. The beauty is in creating a modern heirloom reflecting your story. #bespoke #jewelry

The fabric in the first black dress from a few day The fabric in the first black dress from a few days ago had a tonal metallic thread that provided sparkle in a subtle way. Beading takes it to another level and perhaps too far for my taste. Both of today's black dresses are pretty - one offers coverage and the other is about shape. But, neither will make the final cut. I ventured out and bought them on @therealreal (I have a couple more on their way).
