SHAKE IT UP

SHAKE IT UP

For someone whose wardrobe leans heavily on neutrals, black and white, just introducing one surprise element is enough to make an impact. In a previous post, I mentioned splurging last year on a lavender bag. It’s been interesting to see how the unexpected shade not only works with much of what I already own but also kicks up the look by at least a few notches. Granted, I’d be just as pleased wearing a black, brown or white bag with the above, but the light purple makes a quiet statement for pushing the boundaries with a little creativity. Also worth noting…lavender acts as a fantastic year round color. It’s stunning with white, chic with grey or brown, and plays off the blues in denim beautifully.

Irene Neuwirth moonstone necklace, Chloe dress, Max Mara coat, Bottega Veneta bag, Santoni boot. The outfit would also look great with a gold or beige ballet flat.

I also like these knit dresses and pastel (LOVE coral!) bags:

I absolutely love the look of the lavender bag with these neutrals. So many gorgeous options that you posted. Do you think a burgundy bag could fit the same bill?

Absolutely! Anything a bit unexpected provides the same effect.
