I’m recognizing something about my style that’s pretty obvious if you were to peer in my closet. For every structured blazer and tailored trouser, there’s a pretty printed dress or blouse. For every loafer and sneaker, I have heeled sandals and mules. Despite the yin and yang of these pieces, the concept of having a uniform still exists. It’s just that there’s a number of uniforms I like. It’s definitely not all or one.
The uniform is actually the mix of these things. A long printed dress with a loafer works just as beautifully as a suited trouser with a colorful, strappy sandal. Masculine and feminine looks, classics with an unexpected tweak, and understated minimalism are all equally loved. A uniform doesn’t need to be limited to the repetition of a set of pieces but can instead reflect my mood for the day with a combination of items to create a style I identify with. As much as I appreciate the concept of a strict uniform, and admire those who are comfortable with a lean, edited closet, I don’t think that will ever be me.

Your ideas are brilliant! I also bought the Valentino Roman Stud loafers and have been looking for ways to style them.
