A MODERN CLASSIC

A MODERN CLASSIC

When Gucci introduced the Horsebit 1955 bag for Cruise 2020, it became an instant classic. Based on an archival design from over six decades ago, the bag has modern appeal. From a practical standpoint, the adjustable shoulder strap provides versatility while inner compartments keep contents neatly organized. But perhaps the real beauty lies in its timeless design. The iconic Horsebit hardware speaks to a customer who appreciates a quiet style that goes the distance with years and years of wear.

When I first spotted this bag, I knew it would be a keeper. I debated on color and purchased the GG canvas which I felt was sporty and funky to wear with prints. Since then, in my quest for a white bag, I returned to this favorite and don’t know why it took me so long to see the obvious. When one is a perfect fit, why look further?

With a feeling of nostalgia, Gucci pieces specifically highlighting the trademarks of the House’s past, feel like something handed down from my mother. The Horsebit hardware, iconic red and green web strap, and interlocking GG canvas have a note of familiarity that take me down memory lane.

Both of the Gucci Horsebit 1955 bags I own are from Mytheresa. I love their extensive collection (they currently have over 900 Gucci products) and frequent new releases. With quick shipping, fantastic customer service and fresh merchandise loaded to the site five times a week, Mytheresa continues to be my first and often stop for shopping.

Thank you for your appreciation of the photography…a forever work in progress. The GG canvas also looks very chic with white trim, or even red.
