A few weeks ago, I took a quick trip with friends to the Ojai Valley Inn for a little R & R. One of the conversations turned to beauty products and devices with a bonus of a spontaneous show and tell. A few of the devices, like NuFace and a LED Mask, are already part of my arsenal as recommended to me by my facialist but it was good to hear confirmation others they liked them too.
Moving on to makeup, I was immediately sold on ILIA’s tinted serum after feeling the texture and seeing a natural, but improved finish on my skin. An added bonus is the SPF 40 that is virtually undetectable. But perhaps, my very favorite product that I’m now obsessed with is a Byredo lip balm. Moisturizing but dense, it packed on color in one swipe…and stayed put. I bought the same color (Solid Ground) as my friend who has blonde hair and blue eyes, so I’ll assume it’s universally flattering.
Nordstrom carries both ILIA and BYREDO, so that made my shopping destination easy. While browsing through the full spectrum of Byredo Lip Balm colors, I discovered more makeup from the brand to try including a chunky eye pencil. The photos here show me wearing the Byredo Lip Balm in Solid Ground and the highly pigmented Byredo Eye Pencil in a very dark navy, if you can tell. I’m using the Clé de Peau beauty concealer and primer mentioned in a previous post with my new ILIA tinted serum. A dusting of Westman Atelier tinted highlighter in Peau de Peche finishes everything. All together, this is about the most makeup I’d ever wear at once. But each product also works on its own with a lighter touch.
Regarding the LED devices, I use The Light Salon a few times a week, usually when I’m working on the computer. There are other brands at varying price points so it’s worth it to shop around. Nordstrom carries several including LightStim and Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare. I also use a NuFace device several times a week focusing on my neck and jowls. Nordstrom carries the full line with additional attachments, serums and travel sizes.
