THE BOOK LIST

THE BOOK LIST

I collect design, decorative arts and travel books and always keep a handful on a list for gift suggestions to pass on to my husband. A score of new releases, plus titles I’ve had my eye on, is keeping this list healthy.

A few favorites from my collection include Rose Uniacke at Home, Disc Interiors: Portraits of Home, and Plant Drawings by Ellsworth Kelly.

Deeda Blair: Food, Flowers & Fantasy (October 2022)
I’m most excited about Deeda Blair’s book where she shares her inspirations for entertaining. Accompanied by menus, recipes, and table settings, plus reflections on life, she reveals how her experiences have influenced the way she lives, works, and entertains.

Three Houses: Rose Tarlow (May 2022)
Featuring her family homes in Stone Canyon and Santa Barbara, California, and Provence, France, Three Houses presents Tarlow’s own personal archive in this deluxe slipcase volume—a treasure trove of precious memories and design inspiration for generations to come.

Inside, At Home with Great Designers (September 2022)
I’m looking forward to seeing the variety of personal homes of sixty celebrated global designers and decorators with insight into how and where they live.

Objects of Desire by Maria Hummer-Tuttle (November 2022)
For Maria Hummer-Tuttle, the objects she has collected over the years, from the priceless to the flea-market finds, are precious not only for their beauty, uniqueness, and craftsmanship but also for their connection to the past and the future, for their resonance with one another and for their ultimate expression of a personal home.

At the Artisan’s Table by Jane Schulak & David Stark & Kathleen Hackett (November 2022).
Tabletop designs inspired by historical decorative objects from the world’s great museums. Each chapter features a museum object that serves as a “muse” to create beautiful table settings designed by Jane Schulak and David Stark.

Beyond the Canyon: Inside Epic California Homes, (November 2022)
Photographer Roger Davies explores a collection of the California homes of various artists, film directors, actors, interior designers, art collectors, and others who lend the West Coast its compelling cachet.

G: Forever Green by Carlos Mota (September 22)
Interior designer and style guru Carlos Mota’s devotes an entire book to green, celebrating the color in nature, food, fashion, jewelry, art, interiors, and architecture.

Sunnylands: America’s Midcentury Masterpiece, Revised and Expanded Edition (November 2022)
The undisputed masterpiece of midcentury architecture designed by A. Quincy Jones, Sunnylands was built by media moguls Walter and Leonore Annenberg. It possesses the only completely preserved interior by Hollywood’s decorator-to-the-stars, William Haines. The revised edition marks the 10th anniversary of the opening of Sunnylands to the public adding 32 pages of new photography.
