I’m always inspired to see how others style a Chanel jacket with jeans. It’s a look that’s perpetually chic but can be a bit predictable. Venturing outside the popular cropped, boxy silhouette, Tamu McPherson tweaks it just right with a long, collarless style. The striking feature is the embellishment. Paired with faded denim and sneakers, it makes me re-consider the versatility of a dressier Chanel jacket. Just swap the sneaker and jeans for a slim column dress for a fabulous evening look.
As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I prefer to buy vintage or pre-owned Chanel jackets for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, the prices are more approachable. Second, I like the excitement of scoring a piece from older collections that are not readily available. Lastly, I personally consign my clothes and like the idea of fashion coming full circle and in constant rotation. My two current go to sites for pre-owned Chanel are Kern1 (getting one is like winning the lottery!) and RARCHIVE. They both specialize in Chanel jackets, photograph the pieces beautifully and offer the option of returns.

Wow, interesting. I wasn’t aware of these websites you mention. Thanks. I would love if at one point you did a post mentioning other vintage resale shops that you like (I’m guessing that you have done it, so sorry if I missed them). Kern1 and RARCHIVE are excellent if you want Chanel. Do you know of other sites that specialize in a particular designer or, perhaps, a particular design region like French or Italian? Or even ones that specialize in, say cashmere? Obviously The Real Real and Vestiaire Collective are well known, but they don’t “specialize”.
