Jeans and blazers are the foundation to many of my favorite looks so I’m always finding ways to give them an update. Right now, I’m interested in adding layers in a warm color palette filled with camel or brown and anchored with black accents. Accessorizing with texture from a nubby knit scarf or fringe wrap add visual interest that is perfectly in line with the season. Bags and belts in soft suede act as mellow accent.
Sticking to this plan is giving me styling options that are classic but of the moment. This ideal wardrobe was created entirely from NET-A-PORTER. From casual denim to tailored separates, it’s all there. And when I’m looking for a special piece to boost an outfit, I’ll find it on NET-A-PORTER too.
The workhorse pieces in my closet and this edit are the jeans. I’m favoring a looser fit lately and like how they can provide a more polished look when needed. I have at least two options in my go-to colors – blue and black. From there, I can go casual or more dressed with tops, blazers and shoes.

Denim on denim is one of my favorite combos. I’ve worn it for decades and often use it as a strong neutral base to layer jackets, scarves, or coats. A camel blazer creates a look that looks pulled together with a casual vibe. Keeping accessories, shoes and bag in one color shows intentional styling which can be refreshing from a too casual thrown together look.

I’ve worn this look on repeat for years and still like it. Again, the denim on denim acts as a base, but adding a polished blazer nods to a hint of polish. Swap the denim shirt for a black silk blouse and I’m dressed for dinner or a casual evening out. Working with this palette and theme, I keep the accessories dark and prefer them to almost disappear.

A silk blouse and denim shirt are two of my closet musts. Their versatility is endless. When not styled with jeans, I love wearing them with casual, tailored or evening skirts.

I’ll use the same separates with trousers when I want to dress them up a bit. The Blaze Milano blazer (any velvet or tuxedo style works beautifully) dictates the overall sophisticated aesthetic. A pair of heels further commits to the mood. A suede pump is looking so appealing to me this season.

This is my run around uniform. I start with a white t-shirt and jeans, add a loose pullover, comfortable walking shoes, and a smallish bag. The Khaite scarf or Arch4 fringed wrap make either outfit so, so chic! A cashmere beanie is a great addition too.
