I almost feel like I’m cheating on effort when I wear velvet pants. They feel so good on, like pajama bottoms. I’m talking about the relaxed styles that drape perfectly and catch the light in the most flattering way. They’re quiet yet luxurious. I prefer them with a simple top versus a matching jacket which can get a little serious looking. The best ones work equally well with a pointed toe shoe or a sneaker, a slouchy knit or a polished blouse. Toteme has all of my attention this season with a number of very desirable pieces coming in one after another. The trouser above is my latest crush.
Other velvet pant styles below, all fabulous and wearable throughout the holidays. Dress them up or down.
Toteme velvet pants and metallic top, Aeyde pump, Jimmy Choo bag
Theory pants, And Daughter sweater, Aeyde loafer, Acne Studios bag

Hello. My husband and I are going to be celebrating the anniversary of our first date, which is on New Year’s Eve. It was 52 years ago, and we were on a blind date. He surprised me a couple of years ago, when he told me that he remembered what I wore that night – black velvet pants and a white blouse. When I thought about it, he was right.
This sounds like the year that I should buy velvet pants and repeat that outfit.
Happy Holidays to you.
Karima
