The weather has finally allowed me to venture into my scarf drawer. I love wearing scarves and treasure the collection I’ve accumulated over the years – many acquired while traveling. I think they’re also a great item to gift. From soft silk squares to fringed cashemere, there’s a style for every person and need. A few of my favorite silk squares are the solid Margault from The Row (wearing in gray) and the graphic patterns from Toteme. Both have an excellent hand and tie well. When I want something larger and warmer, but not bulky, I’ll turn to one in cashmere/silk. These have a number of versatile styling options. The polka dot or paisley prints from Saint Laurent are long standing classics. I also love a heavier knit scarf for truly cold days – a rarity in California but useful on occasion. The alpaca boucle from Loewe is quite chic.
When shopping for scarves, I often look in the men’s department. The prints usually better suit my taste.
Alexander McQueen, Toteme and this, Loewe – also love this Burberry and Toteme), Saint Laurent (a favorite for weight and drape – this one too), The Row (last one left).
