WHAT’S NEW

WHAT’S NEW

Someone asked me recently how I decide what to purchase out of all the things I post about. I certainly don’t buy everything, but love to share beautiful things I find for inspiration, to fill a void in my closet, or to keep my wardrobe current. In some posts, like today, I’m covering all the bases.

The Row Aria Top is a mainstay in the collection offered up seasonally in new colors and fabrications. I’ve been tempted by it in silk, but think the cotton is more practical, yet equally fabulous, for my lifestyle. For a classic combo, I’ll wear it with black trousers or for an elegant head to toe look, I’ll pair it with white pants. Khaki and beige bottoms are also in play. And with jeans, of course.

When I’m wearing a minimalist outfit, I like to contrast the simplicity with one magical piece. A bold sculptural or artfully inspired earring is the perfect accessory to add. These brass flower earrings from The Row and simply stunning.

And, I’m circling back to another fabulous piece from The Row. I’m surprised I haven’t pulled the trigger on the N/S Park tote. I’ve been eyeing it in the ivory grained leather all season. I like the small version to wear for lunches and dinners when my outfit doesn’t call for dressy but I want to freshen my look by stepping away from my everyday bag…which is currently this one from Bottega.

Come summer, I’ll add a tinted sunscreen (love Proec(tint) from Supergoop) to give my face a hint of color. I’ll apply Illuminating Self-Tan Drops from Tan-Luxe on strategic areas of my face to provide the look of a tan. When my skin tone looks warmer, I’m able to go with a pale lip. I’ve always been a matte lipstick fan and the reviews on Prada’s Hyper Matte Lipstick (and Soft Matte Lipstick) are good. I’m ordering both finishes in soft neutrals. Will report back on my findings.
