BLACK LEATHER & GOLD

BLACK LEATHER & GOLD

I’m always reminding myself I don’t need to buy any more black pieces, but when I see something new that would actually update my looks, I’ll reconsider. The four pieces above are in that category. After saving these to a mood board, it immediately became apparent that I’m into black with gold hardware. From the subtle rivets on Bally’s mocassin loafer to the bold tip on a Khaite belt (also in ivory – beautiful!), I like the bit of flash. I guess you could also point out that my focus here is on leather. I love a leather jacket that mimics a style I reach for often in a tailored fabric. It’s easy to imagine the styling options since I already have it down. Here, my favorite is a cropped, smart option from Altuzarra. Reminds me of the Nili Lotan jackets I wear a lot. Plus those knot buttons are super chic. A little extra gold on a black bag looks modern too. The ring detail (and detachable chain) on Prada’s pouch hits all the right marks.

Side note for October, although I’m religious about sunscreen, inevitably my skin feels a little weathered after summer exposure. My go to combo is SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic serum and good old fashioned Tretinoin from my dermatologist. It took me a long time to build up a tolerance to Retin-A and started with Medik Crystal Retinal for a few months before I could even touch the prescription strength.

Prada bag and here, Altuzarra jacket (and here and here)- also love this and this, Khaite belt – and this at a lower price point, Bally mocassin loafer here, here and in brown suede here. They run half size big, SkinCeuticals Serum
