Around this time of year, I start to think about what I’d like to wear around the holidays. Usually something green comes to mind. Sometimes red. But I need to consider practicality too and have options which agree with our warm winter weather. Co’s short sleeve sweater caught my eye and satisfies both needs. Same with the COS green silk scarf dress. I also love the shade of green in the cashmere neck scarf. Nice to wear over a simple tee. I’d take the theme a step further with these green jade quartz earrings. They’re simple and pretty.
I also start to think about gifts. The last few years, my favorite hostess gifts have been a beautiful vase or vessel (vintage is great!) casually filled with flowers or greens…or a homemade treat presented on a lovely serving piece. Astier de Villatte has always been a special option for that and NET-A-PORTER is now offering select pieces online. Dinosaur Designs offers a variety of modern options with brass and silver plated objects. Or if bringing a prepared dish, present it in a Le Creuset dish worthy of the host.
Books are another favorite option. Probably because I love receiving them myself too. A few newly published are on my list to give or receive. Any francophile, would certainly love Inside Paris for a visual escape. And don’t dismiss the beauty of a fabulous room spray, especially one that speaks to the season. Diptyque’s Pine Tree in a mini size is perfect (and currently 20% off).

So if you come over with a dish I get to keep the Le Crueset? Are you free next week? xoxo
