WHAT I PACK IN MY TOILETRY BAG

WHAT I PACK IN MY TOILETRY BAG
The things I carry…

Having a well packed, thoughtfully edited toiletry bag is essential for me to ensure stress free travel. It’s also an exercise in streamlining products down to the absolutes. These are the things that make me feel closely connected to my at-home routine…my skin care musts, sleeping aids, beauty favorites and hair styling needs. The selection needs to be efficiently sized and have a place in my toiletry bag. This is of significant importance when changing hotels during an extended trip. Packing and unpacking several times needs to be an effortless system, otherwise, it’s exhausting.

Multi-tasking products are a favorite. A combo cheek and lip color for example. An SPF with a tint to stand in for foundation. I’m big on travel size products too. If I can’t find a favorite in a reasonable size, I’ll repack them in a small container. I’m testing out The Cadence System for my next trip (gifted). I love a system and, it’s nice looking. Two big wins off the bat.

Then, there are the in-flight musts. The products I keep close by throughout the flight. A hydrating serum and a balm to use on lips and nails, a sleeping mask and micellar cleansing wipes.

Read on for the details:

  1. Sunscreen – (1) La Roche Posay UVMUNE 400: I’ll pack two formulations – tinted as a substitute for foundation and untinted for everyday. (2) Abib Airy Sunstick to carry in my bag throughout the trip for quick touchups. I get all of my EU sunscreens shipped to the US from Care to Beauty.
  2. Chanel Retractable Brush – I’ll downsize wherever I can and Chanel makes it easy with a number of retractable makeup brushes. The Kabuki No108 is a must. I use it with the above bronzer for a perfect, soft, application.
  3. Westman Atelier Cheek and Contour – One of the double-taskers. The pink is a flattering lovely shade I’ll use on cheeks, eyelids, and even dab on over a lipstick to matte down shine. The contour powder works nicely under a bronzer. The second multi-tasker in this category is Victoria Beckham Cheeky Posh. Great to throw in my handbag to look refreshed throughout the day. I use on both cheeks and lips.
  4. Crown Affair Mini Brush and Finishing Gel – I love a mini-brush. No need to travel with anything larger. Plus this one comes in a set with the Finishing Gel to tame frizz and add shine.
  5. T3 x AFAR Travel Size Hair Dryer – When I travel with a hair dryer, this is the one. Lightweight, dual-voltage, folding handle…all the good stuff. There’s also a Mini Blowout Brush and a Interchangeable Straightener/Curling Iron in a mini format.
  6. Tan-Luxe Super Glow Drops – I love the ease of adding tanning drops to my preferred face cream or SPF. I can adjust the amount and depth of tan with additional drops. Plus, these are formulated with a hyaluronic serum. I use lightly for a healthy glow.
  7. Slip Silk Sleep Mask – A must for flights and hotel rooms that have annoying little lights. I like a pitch black room.
  8. The Cadence System – Repacking some of my larger products into a smaller container allows me to travel with my favorites. I don’t like to mess with my routine while away, especially if I’m gone for an extended period. I’m testing out the Cadence System of containers and clear bag (gifted) for my next trip.
  9. Dr. Metacine Instafacial Plasma – I’ve seen a lot of hype on this product and will integrate it into my routine for a test drive. Travel can wreck havoc on my skin so I’m hopeful this will combat the dryness I often experience from flights and air conditioned hotel rooms. (gifted)
  10. Bobbi Brown Color Corrector – My skin does funny things when I travel. I feel like my circles are a bit more exaggerated, or a new spot appears. The corrector neutralizes everything before I cover with concealer.
