A clean-lined, black leather jacket is an absolute wardrobe essential. It travels well, can be dressed up or down and is season-less. I like a style that can be worn open over a slim layer or closed up, almost acting as a top. The less going on, the better. No epaulets, exposed zippers or snaps. For this piece to be a forever investment item, it needs to be sophisticated. I love the trim proportions of the silhouette above. It wears beautifully with a bottom with some volume, like the full skirt above or the relaxed trouser from yesterday.

The pretty sweater styled with a white pant yesterday functions just as well with black. Add the beautiful black leather jacket and suede flat for a more polished look or keep it casual with a white sneaker.

Similar to the top look, but with a trouser and textured accessories.

I love the “capsule” series – thank you! In your view, would a simple suit jacket style of leather jacket have the same versatility in this capsule? This zipped-up shape isn’t suited to my figure. Example here: THEORY (PS for your readers, Theory also makes a great version of the jacket you show from The Row). Thank you!

Yes, I think a blazer would work in a number of ways. Theory makes a great option too. The links for the blazer and zip up are here:
