AN EVENING CAPSULE COLLECTION, PART TWO

AN EVENING CAPSULE COLLECTION, PART TWO

I’ve mentioned before how I like to collect pieces for an evening capsule collection. What makes this latest round up even more appealing is the season-less versatility of each piece. Silver or gold accents look fabulous now but will also work year round. The spring collections featured plenty of sparkle and shine so investing in metallics will pay off for seasons to come. A mule or a bag add a fabulous pop to summer whites and solve the predicament of what to wear with unusual prints and colors. Even jeans and a t-shirt are upgraded when introducing a metallic. Same goes for jewelry. A drop of colored stones, stacks of gold bracelets or a heavy mix of multiple rings add an interesting layer when paired with humble basics.

But aside from the accessorizing, the key elements to a capsule evening collection are the core pieces. A skirt (pleated or streamlined), great trousers (full or straight leg), a beautiful blouse and simple knits provide endless styling opportunities. I’m currently loving the Gucci skirt above as a piece I envision wearing day or night. The jacquard sheen reveals a subtle tonal GG pattern that I’d wear casually with a crisp white shirt, cashmere sweater or take it up a notch with a silk blouse.

Roland Mouret pant, Gucci slingback pumps, Blaze Milano blazer, Oscar de la Renta earrings, Marni bag, Alexandre Vauthier velvet top

My go-to for evening looks is anchored in black and white, but I don’t shy away from a good dose of saturated color. A deep emerald green or topaz gold hue look especially beautiful in velvet and play back to black separates with ease. Other pieces to consider include this Marni silver bag (great for year round styling) and Gucci slingback pumps. Both are keepers for the long haul.

Some of the best pieces I’ve recently added to my wardrobe are from Mytheresa. From bags, shoes and jewelry to a beautifully curated clothing selection, Mytheresa carries a mix that appeals to my taste. When searching for something special, basic or even an essential, Mytheresa is my first stop.

Thank you Mytheresa for supporting A Note on Style through this post.

I ordered the PROLON, per your suggestion back in November and foolishly did not notice that I was signing up for the “subscription” and I just received a notice that ANOTHER order is on its way and I was charged. When I called, they refused to cancel this order or the charge. So now I will have two orders of PROLON. I am not very happy with this company. I thought you should know.
