Cinching the waist with a basic belt is a styling tidbit seen in several of the Spring 2024 collections. Saint Laurent made the biggest statement with this look but it also had significant presence at Prada and Max Mara. The idea to draw focus on the waistline wasn’t missed at Hermès – with more of a statement belt – or Carven – with thin straps, sometimes doubled, closed with a delicate buckle. It’s a styling move easy to incorporate from an already well stocked closet. Of all the options, my preferred look is with a humble, basic belt void of logo hardware as seen at Saint Laurent or a simple wrap of leather quietly tied at the waist. COS is your best bet for this classic.
