TRAVELING WITH MAKEUP

TRAVELING WITH MAKEUP

When I started packing in early February for a month long trip. I knew I didn’t want to be burdened with heavy bags and the annoyance of too much stuff. Life on the road is so much better with less. I took a good look at my cosmetics and compiled a selection of what I could wear day or night using a light or heavy hand. I already had the Surratt compact with a grouping of eyeshadows – a few of which I never used. Those were tossed and replaced with a neutral base, a dark powder, and a smokey bronze. I like these compacts so much, I bought another for blush and bronzer.  They are slim and lightweight. Next I narrowed down my pencils to my favorite from Victoria Beckham. I can layer the shimmer eyeshadow over it for a nighttime look or just smudge it softly for day. My favorite mascara from Chanel was an absolute, so that got tossed in the bag. It’s one of the few products I keep back stock on. To fill in and control my brows, I love Surratt’s Brow Pomade. The brush creates a fine feathered line and the formula provides hold. I can use a second coat for a more dramatic, defined brow while still looking natural. My everyday concealer from Cle de Peau comes in a small tube and I’ll use that for spots and dark circles finished with a dusting of powder. No need for foundation. Lastly, lips –  which is the hardest because I like to have a variety of colors and finishes. I committed to one liner (automatic twist mechanism plus a brush) and a flattering pink from Hermes.  Cle de Peau’s sheer red made the cut too. I wear it on its own or over the Hermes pink to create a more lively hue. Not photographed but also packed – Chanel Dual Ended Eyeshadow Brush, and these retractable brushes for blush and powder. From top left: Surratt Beauty compact and eyeshadows, Victoria Beckham eye pencil, Cle de Peau’s sheer red, Surratt blush and bronzer, individual blush here) Surratt Brow Pomade, Cle de Peau concealer, Hermes lipstick, Chanel mascara, Cle de Peau lipliner and brush, Sisley powder, lightweight cosmetic bag

Oh my goodness, thank you! So helpful and perfect timing ahead of my upcoming spring/summer trips. I struggle with what to bring and usually pack way too much makeup (and skincare products). It all starts out organized in different compartments but ends up thrown together after only a few days of travel. Sifting through my travel case when in a hurry is such an unneeded waste of time. Love this and the all the products you recommend here. Thanks again!
