CONSIDERING THESE PIECES

CONSIDERING THESE PIECES

I’m in that stage between seasons where my wardrobe needs editing but not overhauling. I’m considering a few pieces that work now with what I already own, while easing into the lighter palette that spring demands. These six things have either arrived recently or are sitting in various shopping carts, waiting for me to press buy.

This ivory sweater from J.Crew arrived last week. I like the loose silhouette and wide rollneck with the dimension of a cable knit. Even better, it’s cotton which works well for California’s mild climate. I can layer it over one of my thin cashmere tees until I’m ready to wear it on its own. It will be useful well into summer. It runs large.

In an attempt to feel more spring forward, I’ve been layering a bright pink cashmere foulard from &Daughter over the grey, black, camel and brown knits that are in rotation right now. It adds warmth without weight and brings in color. Above, I’m wearing the argyle scarf in the classic triangle size and the pink in the XL, which I like to double wrap.

I’m thinking about new readers with a pale honeydew frame. They feel less severe than the darker frames I’ve been wearing for years and the shape would be new for me. I always have my readers fitted with blue light filtering lenses. These are from Warby Parker.

I love a good ring stack and have collected several bands over the years in white and yellow gold, pave and baguette stones…I like mixing them up. This bezel radiant eternity band would add another layer of dimension and depth to my stack.

The Bottega Veneta Andiamo remains one of my favorite bags. The size and functionality just suit me perfectly. I’ve been eyeing this pale sage color for spring, a go-with-everything neutral that’s unique and less predictable than ivory or white.

The last addition is the MAKE Beauty Skin Mimetic Concealer. I’ve never tried anything from MAKE before, but they sent me the concealer and I’m sold. The finish is beautiful, covering dark circles while disappearing into my skin. The applicator is precise and the consistency feels light. It’s very good.
