It’s the first week of May and I’m more than ready for something fresh. Perhaps the only thing that has changed lately is the weather, and it’s glorious. A sunny, warm day is the ultimate mood lifter. I’m completing any unfinished spring cleaning and transitioning to the new season. Lightweight loungewear has stepped in and my Eberjey pajama sets are in rotation. I buy one color in different styles for various combinations depending on the weather.
In a previous post, I mentioned the focus on eyes behind a masked face. But that doesn’t mean I’m forgoing lip color. However, it became quickly apparent that glossy finishes no longer work. I’ve switched to formulations that don’t budge while wearing a mask. I like Chanel Rouge Allure, Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil and Marc Jacobs Le Marc. All are non-drying and stay put. Do you have a favorite?
Entertaining at home will hopefully return this summer. I’ve gone through Stephanie Booth Shafran’s recently published book You’re Invited: Classic, Elegant Entertaining several times for inspiration and tips. Her taste is impeccable in creating gorgeous, welcoming environments for guests to enjoy on a number of occasions. Until gatherings are allowed and entertaining returns to the norm, I’ll enjoy studying the attention to detail in the lovely florals Stephanie arranges for the table and home.
My friend Angela posted a picture of this cordless table lamp providing light for her family’s puzzle activity. I think it’s brilliant. With warmer nights ahead, it’s exactly what’s needed for evening outdoor games or dining. It also comes in black.
Cotton throws are a summer necessity both indoors and out. I’m stocking up on a few to place indoors around the house and outdoors folded in a basket for lounging or cocktails by the fire.

Thanks for your ideas to keep us comfortable at home! It is nice to be able to enjoy being outdoors.
I recommend Lancome “color design lipstick” matte or shimmer. Both glide on smoothly and stay put, even under a mask.
(BTW your links to cotton throws are mixed up with the pj link.)

Thanks for the heads up on the links. They’re fixed now. :)
I’ll take a look at Lancome’s lipstick too.

Thank you for the PJ idea. Look cute and comfy. Question though. Please share what you mean by you buy same color in different styles for various combinations. Thanks, Lisa C

With Eberjey PJ’s, I’ll buy a set with a long sleeve top and long bottoms then another set with shorts and a tank or tee all in the same color. Then I can mix and match them according to weather…shorts with long sleeves, or pants with a tank.

I love the idea of “outdoor” throws. Thank you so enjoy your blog.
